Swiss Post and Unic have been working together for almost 25 years. We collaborate directly with parent company Die Schweizerische Post AG as well as with the individual group companies Post CH AG, Post CH Netz AG, PostFinance AG, PostAuto AG and Post CH Digital Services AG.
Our range of services for them includes digital consulting and strategy, user experience, content strategy and UX writing, frontend and backend development, email marketing and marketing automation as well as search engine optimisation, digital analytics and service management.

Sprints over the past four years
25 Years of Dedication to Usability
Together with Swiss Post, we develop customer-centric, future-proof digital solutions and platforms for private and business customers, which we never stop optimising.
In 2020, we updated the structure and navigation of the website with Swiss Post. The result was a clearer structure with improved accessibility for content and products, plus the implementation of the new Swiss Post CI/CD for digital channels. We received several awards for our work.
We did not stop there. Below we outline what we have achieved since then, and the benefits for Swiss Post and its customers.
Software Development
Since 2020, the Sitecore Digital Experience Platform (DXP) has been the technological foundation of the website. Thanks to its modular structure, we were able to integrate close to 80 frontend services into the overall architecture. Unic is responsible for the UX architecture, UX concept and UX design of the responsive www.post.ch website. In addition to UX accessibility in architecture and design, we also support brand management in various projects.
For conceptional, visual and functional aspects to align in digital solutions, seamless collaboration between creative and development roles is key.
More Than 60 Sprints to Success
Since 2020, development has been in the hands of a joint DevOps team with the Post’s IT staff as part of a strategic development partnership, using agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban combined with Hermes.
The PostPortal DevOps team is a key in-house point of contact for any new developments or enhancements. Many services are available through the post.ch website, which makes it a central point of access for customers.
In more than 60 sprints, we gained insights into many different Swiss Post divisions. We rolled out numerous releases and implemented key features to advance the overarching project. These include:
performance optimisations,
improvements to user friendliness in the frontend, and
integration of important interfaces for seamless communication between systems.
In these cases, we assume lead roles in backend and frontend development. Our office in Wroclaw provides an additional advantage, enabling the effective integration of nearshoring resources for development and test management.
We appreciate Unic as a partner that provides integrated support to the Post in a range of different fields. These range from strategic consulting, information architecture and design to user-friendly implementation across various channels. This adds value across the board.

Human-centred Design
Our work on UX architecture and concepts is always guided by human-centred design principles. This is evident from the structure of customer-facing interactive services on the website, flexible navigation and accessibility.
Accessibility is a key aspect in all Swiss Post projects, from design and development to testing. To achieve this, we consistently observe the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). And it pays off: We have been certified as enabling ‘Access for all’ multiple times.
Strategy and Consulting
Together with PostNetz CH AG, we developed an action-oriented digital strategy for the department responsible for the branch network.
In ideation workshops, we explored what experiences in the Post’s network might look like in the future.
How can future Post customers make use of services easily and around the clock?
Which elements can be anticipated for the intuitive use of a potential digital solutions portfolio?
What could a future digital Swiss Post experience feel like?
The ideas generated in the workshops were clustered into work packages, converted into epics and stories and fed into our shared product backlog.
Our Service Design Consultants used creative methods to address the overarching topic of the future customer experience with the Post team involved. They created a synthesis from trends, future personas (Gen Z, Gen Alpha, etc.) and strategic topics from which they drafted concrete, action-oriented approaches for usage and services – always in line with the human-centred design principles (HCD) mentioned above, of course.
For the best possible visualisation of the overhauled UI design, visual decision-making aides for the future look & feel were created. We held a compact series of creative sessions which took into account brand values to be communicated and the integration of digital channels, topics and devices. We created mood boards and visual assets in Figma which will serve as an inspiration and foundation for future projects in the digital space.
Content Consulting
Since 2022, we have also been a strategic content partner for Swiss Post. Our goal was to implement a content lifecycle process that would add significant value for Swiss Post as well as their customers.
We performed a quantity and quality audit to gain insight into the status of the content, including on the micro level. Based on the results of these analyses, we devised recommendations and made the suggested changes to an initial set of relevant pages. In this context, we found the content sprints method to be an excellent way to optimise content.
Content Writing
As part of an upskilling programme for editors, we held various trainings, providing insights into topics such as writing for the web and UX writing. Participants were able to apply their new skills straight away by working on content optimisations, which then underwent quality checks. In parallel, we also optimised content ourselves to improve its quality and user-friendliness.

SEO Analytics
We have also been supporting Swiss Post with SEO for a few years now. The focus lies on the analysis and optimisation of search engine strategies to increase the visibility and reach of Swiss Post’s digital content. We also implemented a project on the analysis of market participants in freight logistics.
Thanks to our close collaboration and data-driven approach, we were able to develop SEO solutions tailored specifically to the needs of Swiss Post and its customers.
Our joint efforts included keyword research, the optimisation of on-page elements and the improvement of technical SEO infrastructure.
Our efforts paid off: A significant increase in online visibility and improved user experience paved the way for additional digital growth and success.
Email Marketing
In its email marketing, the entire Post group has been working closely with Unic since 2007. We use standard templates as well as custom developments, a sophisticated recommendation engine, a CIIM interface and much more.
Our journey took us from static HTML emails to mobile-friendly emails to various forms of multipart emails optimised for a range of devices, including industry-leading accessibility.
Together, we shaped and supported email marketing across the entire Swiss Post group.
Benefits for Swiss Post and Its Customers
Over the past 25 years, we have worked closely with the Swiss Post team to improve the digital experience for customers. This approach enables us to provide faster answers to customers’ questions and make their postal transactions easier. For editors, we have eliminated redundancies to streamline their processes – by introducing a pattern library, user-friendly and accessible modules and an easy-to-implement microsite framework. At the same time, we optimised the marketing automation, simplified testing and created the foundation for more reliable data.
