Why do we actually do what we do? This fundamental question not only drives each of us but is also at the heart of Simon Sinek's Golden Circle. In 2006, he proposed a fascinating thesis: successful companies always begin their business ideas and product visions with the "why". According to Sinek, the why is the central conviction and the most compelling reason for our actions. His model consists of three central questions: Why, How, and What.
At Unic, we have not only adopted the “Why, How, What” model, it is the basis of our Unic identity and is constantly changing. Because even though we have already internalized it, sustainability is now certified under “How” and firmly anchored in our DNA.
Why Golden Circle? Why, How, What?
There is no question that our “Why, How, What” model is the basis of our daily work. The latter describes, in a figurative sense, the personality of Unic and is our self-understanding for our actions. At the same time, it influences how others perceive us from outside and inside. It is therefore important to understand the why, to question it, in order to help shape and continuously develop the how and what. In other words, the model serves as a compass to ensure that our work always remains meaningful and purposeful. By clearly defining our why, we create a solid foundation on which to build our methods (the how) and our concrete actions and results (the what). This is how we ensure that we not only act effectively, but also authentically and sustainably.

In a constantly changing world, it is crucial that we as Unic not only pursue technological progress, but also pursue the goal of being in line with the principles of sustainability.
At Unic, we have worked hard to define our identity and purpose to ensure that both reflect more than just our interpersonal and technological vision. Our daily business and the digital transformation associated with it must also contribute to a sustainable future.
We have subsequently expanded our “How” to include aspects of sustainability. Sustainability has always been part of our DNA. By explicitly integrating it into our identity, we are not only emphasizing this aspect more strongly, we are also committing ourselves to making sustainability more positive within Unic. This expansion reflects our firm belief that digital transformation and sustainability go hand in hand. And by making sustainability a central part of our identity, we are committing ourselves to acting responsibly.
